Day-by-Day Itinerary
A 4 Nights / 5 Days journey through Ahmedabad - Dwarka - Somnath - Rajkot.
Ahmedabad to Dwarka (approx. 450 km / 8 hrs)
Drive from Ahmedabad to Dwarka — one of the seven sacred cities of Hinduism, believed to be the ancient kingdom of Lord Krishna. On arrival, check in and visit the Dwarkadhish Temple for the evening aarti, then take a holy dip at Gomti Ghat on the Gomti river where it meets the Arabian Sea. Overnight in Dwarka.
Dwarka Full Day — Bet Dwarka & Temple Circuit
After breakfast, explore Dwarka's sacred circuit — Nageshwar Jyotirlinga Temple (one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, set in a garden of giant statues), Gopi Talav (a scenic lake associated with Krishna's Raas Leela), a boat ride to Bet Dwarka island (where Lord Krishna is believed to have resided), and the Rukmani Temple on the return. Evening stroll along the coastal temples; evening aarti at Dwarkadhish Temple. Overnight in Dwarka.
Dwarka to Porbandar to Somnath (approx. 200 km / 4 hrs)
After breakfast, drive to Porbandar (75 km / 1.5 hrs) — visit Kirti Mandir, the birth home of Mahatma Gandhi, and the Sudama Temple, the only temple in the world dedicated to Krishna's childhood friend Sudama. Continue to Somnath (130 km / 2.5 hrs) — the first and most sacred of the twelve Jyotirlingas. Visit Bhalka Tirth (where Lord Krishna was struck by an arrow), Triveni Sangam (confluence of three rivers), the Geeta Mandir and Somnath Beach. Attend the evening aarti and the spectacular Sound and Light show narrating Somnath's history of resilience. Overnight in Somnath.
Somnath to Virpur to Gondal to Rajkot (approx. 200 km / 4 hrs)
After breakfast, drive towards Rajkot with heritage stops en route — the Junagadh Fort's massive Uparkot citadel overlooking the city, the Jalaram Temple at Virpur (a 19th-century saint revered across Gujarat), and the royal town of Gondal featuring the Swaminarayan Temple, the fairy-tale Navlakha Palace and the famous Vintage Car Museum of the Gondal royal family. Arrive Rajkot by evening. Overnight in Rajkot.
Rajkot to Ahmedabad — Akshardham & Adalaj (approx. 230 km / 4 hrs)
After breakfast, drive to Ahmedabad with two final stops — the intricately carved Adalaj Stepwell (a 5-storey octagonal vav built in 1499 AD, one of Gujarat's finest examples of Indo-Islamic architecture) and the magnificent Akshardham Temple complex (closed Mondays). Evening drop at Ahmedabad airport or railway station.
